Common name Dalmatian iris Family iridaceae Life cycle perennial (Z4-9) Flowers blue (late spring) Size 24-36" Light sun-part shade Received in a plant trade as 'Aureo-variegata', but given the creamy-white (rather than gold) variegation, I'm relabeling it as 'Argenteo-variegata'. Either way, it's a refined iris; in fact, it gets a bit lost in the boisterous back-of-bog area where it lives now, so I'll probably have to move it one of these days.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.
