Legousia speculum-veneris |
 |
Seed for this annual came from a wildflower enthousiast, whose trade list featured some pretty darn weedy species - so I wasn't sure what to expect. So far, I'm pleased - although the plant's habit isn't impressive, the flowers are pretty, and eyepoppingly bright. It's not an everbloomer - when it's done, by late summer, it abruptly dies off, leaving an empty space in the garden. Something to take into consideration when deciding where to place them. I may experiment with deadheading and pinching, to see if I can get a bit more bulk out of the plant. In any case, glad I gave it a try.
