Native to dry prairielands of the central U.S. Silvery flowers open late in the afternoon and close in the evening. Forms a strong taproot. I've not been successful growing this yet – two years in a row, getting seedlings was no problem, but the plants disappeared not too long after being set out in the garden. Maybe I need to grow them on in pots longer; making another attempt this year.
