Oenothera fremontii 'Lemon Silver'

Common name evening primrose
Family onagraceae
Life cycle perennial (Z4-7)
Flowers yellow (summer)
Size 3-6"
Light sun
Cultural notes drought-tolerant, needs well-drained soil

Low-growing, loose-clumping plant with elegant elongated leaves. Yellow flowers appear throughout summer. Ours started blooming in the first half of June. It has proved longer-lived than most oenotheras in our garden, returning at least three years.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.

One or more images of this plant are included in my stock photo catalog
