Oenothera speciosa 'Rosea'

Oenothera speciosa 'Rosea'
Synonym(s) Oenothera speciosa var. berlandieri
Common name Mexican evening primrose
Family onagraceae
Life cycle perennial (Z5-9)
Flowers soft pink (late spring)
Size 12"
Light sun
Cultural notes ordinary garden soil

In late May and June, the pink flowers on this evening primrose are irresistable. The foliage is nothing to write home about - a bit scraggly, but at least it stays green. The plant wants to scramble around by its roots; in rich moist soil it can get out of hand, but in the marginal conditions provided by our driveway bed, it's manageable.
