Same plant, next spring

Common name dunce caps Family crassulaceae Life cycle perennial (Z4) Flowers yellow Size 2" Light sun Cultural notes very well-drained soil, drought-tolerant Looks like a small spiny sempervivum, complete with offset pups. We're on our third nursery-purchased specimen, set in a high and dry part of our rock garden. On paper, it should be happy there. Thus far, it has survived a summer and a winter, which is a win in my book.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.
