Relative of the common weed (see Plantago major), with an irregularly streaked cream-and-green variegation pattern. Even though I don't think it's quite gardenworthy enough to officially preserve, I allow some seedlings to grow where they don't get in the way – for example, between the flagstones in our side garden walkway, shown at right.

Through self-sowing, plants with different variegation patterns have established themselves. The one at right may have cross-bred with the 'Ki Fu' variety, whose markings are more in the yellow range.
