Wonderful common name, eh? It's a nice enough annual, though. I started them twice from seed; those years, they started blooming already under the grow lights, and continued on at least into early summer. My nicest specimen, however, was a volunteer that appeared unexpectedly a few years later, in a crack between the flagstone path along our swimming pond. A single plant started blooming in early August. I had completely forgotten its name, but re-identified it with help from the online community at GardenWeb's Name That Plant forum.
