Common name primrose Family primulaceae Life cycle perennial Flowers purple (April-May) Size 8" Light part shade From seed germinate at room temperature with exposure to light Flowers first year from seed sown indoors early. detailed seed-starting info below Grew this from traded seed labeled Primula saxicola, but that doesn't appear to be an actual species - it may be P. saxatilis instead. Very cheerful in mid-spring. Primroses don't tend to last long in our garden, so I'm encouraged that this one at least came back for a second year.
