This tree came to us as a stick among sticks in an Arbor Day Society Ten free trees pack. We planted it in our back yard to celebrate the birth of our first-born son, Max. It's had its struggles through the years (not the least of which were the attacks with sticks and other "swords" which Max leveled against his own tree), and suffered from dieback a few years. This year it seems to be doing fine - soon it will be much taller than Max will ever be :-)
