Rodgersia aesculifolia
Family saxifragaceae
Life cycle perennial (Z3)
Flowers pink-white (May-June)
Size 3'
Light part-full shade
Cultural notes moist soil

Impressive foliage plant, makes a bold statement in our shade garden. The fluffy flower spikes in late spring are a bonus. Illegally imported from my parents' garden in the Netherlands, as a chunk of root. Some years (like this) it does marvellously, others it just sulks (maybe it's homesick?)

A week or two after it starts blooming, the flowers take on a pink cast
