Evergreen shrubby perennial. The species has purple flowers, this cultivar blooms in white. It has a reputation for spreading aggressively by runners, and I found this to be quite true. Both the original clump and a few offsets in the nursery container that I planted elsewhere grew to giant and expanding clumps by the following summer. In the end, I decided that fighting their aggressive ways was more trouble than it was worth, so I took out both stands – which filled up my compost pile completely.
