Similar in appearance and herbal uses to common rue R. graveolens. So far, this one is cuter, with a bushier and more rounded appearance. That may just be its young-plant look though. Time will tell.

This plant used to grow in our garden, but it slipped away... About my plant portraits

Visitors to this page have left the following commentsIrena Montuori, Guelph, Ontario | Oct 30, 2009 | it is a good small shrub to attract butterflies(Monarchs, Swallowtails lay their eggs on the plant) - just a wonderful little shrub for your garden, use this herb sparingly in your salads, - it is the national plant of Lithuania (I grew up there) and it is associated there with weddings, love, etc. Please be careful not to brush against the plant in the sunshine, as it may cause a skin rash to some individuals. I enjoy the blueish colour of the leaves until January (at my area). If you let the flowers to ripen to seeds, then the plant seeds itself all over and you will have an abundant supply of new seedlings. |
