Tidy mounded shrub with blue-green foliage and purple stems - the twigs have been used in basketmaking. Dependable garden denizen. It lived in our garden for about 15 years, during which it was pruned back hard on several occasions. In the end, despite the haircuts, it got too large for its place in the garden. Since moving it was out of the question, it met the gruesome fate of a chainsaw. But we'll always remember it fondly.
