Striking bulbous plant native to southern Africa. Big bloomballs composed of many pinkish-red flowers make their appearance in summer. Reportedly does best when rootbound, so perhaps I should rethink my decision to plant it in one of our garden borders. But that's where I'll keep it at least till the end of this season.
