Silene flos-cuculi

Silene flos-cuculi
ragged robin
Synonym(s) Lychnis flos-cuculi
Common name ragged robin
Family caryophyllaceae
Life cycle perennial (Z3-9)
Flowers pink (May-June)
Size 12-18"
Light sun-part shade
Cultural notes prefers moist soil

Frilly pink flowers over a rosette of strappy deep-green leaves. Our seed-grown plants don't get as tall as the suggested typical size, perhaps because they don't get the moist soil they prefer.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.
