Soldanella carpatica

Common name alpine snowbells
Family primulaceae
Life cycle perennial (Z5-8)
Flowers blue-violet (early spring)
Light sun-part shade

Purple bell-shaped flowers are produced one or a few to a stem. Species is native to the Carpathian and Tatra Mountians. Reportedly, this species is among the easier ones to grow. Which is good, because my first attempt at growing Soldanella was not successful.

This plant used to grow in our garden, but it slipped away...
