Synonym(s) Thalictrum angustifolium Common name shining meadow rue Family ranunculaceae Life cycle perennial Flowers yellow (early summer) Size 5' Light sun-part shade From seed best procedure not clear - see below detailed seed-starting info below Seed ripens mid-August The foliage on this thalictrum is rather different than on most others we grow - instead of frilly, columbine-like leaves, it has narrower, glossy, compound leaves. Its flowers resemble those of Thalictrum flavum, its strongly upright habit that of Thalictrum rochebruneanum. Its flowers are reputed to be fragrant, smelling of roses, but I haven't noticed yet. All in all, a nice addition to the garden.
