Thuja occidentalis 'Teddy'

Thuja occidentalis 'Teddy'
Winter coat? March 2009
dwarf American arborvitae
December 2009
Common name dwarf American arborvitae
Family cupressaceae
Life cycle evergreen shrub
Size 2'
Light sun-part shade

Soft blue-green needles on a dwarf, globe-shaped evergreen tree. I planted this in our rock garden, but will have to watch it carefully, because it does not like to get too dry. Through the winter, it turns rather brown, but its leaves still have a soft texture - so I figure this is just its winter coat, not a sign of impending demise. For some reason, I've only taken pictures of Teddy in winter thus far, even though he's lived through a full season in our garden.

This plant used to grow in our garden, but it slipped away...
