Tricyrtis 'Tojen'

Tricyrtis 'Tojen'

Common name toad lily
Family liliaceae
Life cycle perennial (Z5-8)
Flowers pink (late summer-fall)
Size 24"
Light part shade

Sometimes presented as a cultivar of T. hirta but usually considered a hybrid, 'Tojen' is a robust variety with large, faintly speckled leaves and speckle-less pink flowers. I was afraid that Houston's climate would be a bit too hot for its liking, so I planted it in a location with northern exposure that gets direct sunlight only in the morning. But after two super-hot summers, it's still going strong.
