Clear blue flowers in early summer; the grassy foliage goes dormant in summer, so the plant is well suited to locations that go dry after the spring rains subside. According to most reports, it needs a protective mulch to survive in zone 6 – but so far, it has survived several winters in our garden without any protection.

This plant used to grow in our garden, but it slipped away...

Seed-starting details for this plant

  1. 'Queen Fabiola' seed from HPS/MAG '06/'07 exchange. Baggy 70F (multiple weeks, no G)
  2. Same seed as above. Baggy 70F (26d) - 35F (6w) - 70F (90%G, 7-23d)

Apparently requires cold stage.
