Tulipa hybrids

Tulipa hybrids
tulip
Common name tulip
Family liliaceae
Life cycle perennial bulb
Flowers many colors (mid-late spring)
Size 12-24"
Light sun

Over the years, we've grown many named varieties of tulips. Many bloom for a year, never to return (or returning only with misshapen leaves and no flowers). Some are more truly perennial. I'll use this page to report on the performance of a few. Just one for now: 'Arabian Mystery', a triumph tulip that we planted in the lane in Fall 2003. They all bloomed nicely.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.
