Rock garden plant. Masses of flowers with darker vein patterns. Supposedly not long-lived in the garden. It's a ground-hugger, with deep burgundy autumn foliage. Ones we had planted in an area that stayed wet in winter didn't return, so drainage appears to be essential.

Seeds give off yellow dye when first wetted. Apparently short-viable.
