White flowers with violet throats. Glossy leaves. Native to the Eastern US.

Viola sororia f. priceana
Spreads politely, to form cheerful colonies. I'm happy to see them every spring.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.
