Watsonia borbonica 'Bedazzled' and 'Cherry Splash'

Common name bugle lily
Family iridaceae
Life cycle perennial (Z8-10)
Flowers various colors (spring-summer)
Size 4-6'
Light sun
Cultural notes well drained soil

Gladiolus relative from South Africa, with trumpet-shaped flowers on tall spikes that rise above sword-shaped upright leaves. The plants retreat underground to their bulbs in summer. We're trying two varieties from mail-ordered bulbs. They should be hardy here in Houston, so hopefully they'll be with us for years to come.

This plant used to grow in our garden, but it slipped away...
