Greenish flowers are followed by red fruit on this deciduous tree whose common name refers to the broad spines along the branches. Its habit ranges from a spreading shrub to a graceful small tree. Although it sounds interesting, I have no idea where I'll put mine if my current seedlings survive to maturity.
