Common name fuzzy beautyberry Family lamiaceae Life cycle shrub (Z7?-10) Flowers purple (summer) Size to 8' Light sun-light shade From what references I've found, it's not looking good for the winter-hardiness of this beautyberry. So far, one plant (out of three) made it through its first winter. Sure enough, it's fuzzy, with a purple cast to the new leaves. I think we need to hope for at least another round of winter survival before we can observe its flowering/fruiting displays.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.
