Dasiphora fruticosa

Synonym(s) Potentilla fruticosa
Common name bush cinquefoil
Family rosaceae
Life cycle shrub (Z2-6)
Flowers pink
Size 2'
Light sun

Slow-growing small deciduous shrub. We've previously grown white and yellow forms, which have proven somewhat rangy and short-lived in our garden. More recently, we purchased a plant labeled 'Pink Beauty'. I was first a little skeptical of the accuracy of this name, since the flowers appear in creamy white at first - but it looks like they fade to a soft pink after all. So far so good on the habit – it works nicely tucked into one of our rock garden areas.

This photo was taken in late September. The foliage is starting to look a little tired, but the flowers just keep on coming, even after the Colchicum has faded and Sedum 'Red Cauli' is finally starting to come into its own.

This plant used to grow in our garden, but it slipped away...
