I ripped out the common goat's rue a few years ago, but I'm still hanging on to the oriental species to see what it will do. So far, we get lush, popping-green foliage every spring, the plants hang in there all season - but I've never noticed flowers. Possibly because the area where they are planted is a bit of a jungle, but more likely it just hasn't found the right conditions yet. I plan on giving it a new location next year (it's parked in the veggie garden for now), and maybe it will respond with some blooms.

This plant needs to be inoculated with bacterias specific to Galega Orientalis to thrive. No other microorganism will do. I bought my bacterias from a Finnish company.
Regards,
Gunnar The bacteria must have found my garden all by themselves. I haven't had a chance to put up the photos yet, but this plant took off this year, growing tall, full, and flowering. |
