Germinate at room temperature. Self-seeds modestly in our garden detailed seed-starting info below
|
Low-growing plant with dark green foliage and purple-blue flowers. It's a perennial, but for some reason has a hard time coming through winter for us after its second year - so acts more like a biennial. Deadheading/cutting back may help to extend its lifespan.

Alaya | Aug 07, 2010 | mine didn't do so well the second year, but the third year it really mulitiplied! |
Linda | Mar 14, 2011 | I was wondering if this plant was invasive? I've not found it to be aggressive. Doesn't spread by roots, and I've not seen excessive self-seeding either. |
Patricia Allott | Sep 05, 2014 | I realised this is the plant that has spread throughout my garden. It is either in clumps around 20cm in height but it is also now spread throughout my lawn about the same height as the clover. I like it though because I have my garden for the wildlife and the bees like it. It does become a bit of a nuisance so when it tries to take over in areas I don't want it, I dig it up. There's plenty of it now though. It was one small plug plant to begin with! |
