Ornamental cherry tree, with clusters of white flowers in spring. 'Summer Glow' starts out with green leaves in spring; they turn purple later in the season. Ours is planted in the front yard, not too far from the rock garden – but positioned so that it should not cast too much shade onto the rockery.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston. About my plant portraits

In the spring it is so fragrant that it draws people to my yard. The tree grows beside my Kou pond and creates the most wonderful picture during the summer with the purple leaves hanging over a pond full of orange and gold koi fish. You will enjoy this tree so much. It is the favorite tree of the neighborhood. |
