Our best-performing fruit tree - the dwarf pear. We share the fruit with the wasps who always claim a few - but most years there are plenty left for us. Flowers in early spring are very welcome, the foliage holds its own through summer. Ours has tended to change color (as if it were fall) by late summer in recent years, but doesn't otherwise appear to be suffering.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston. About my plant portraits
