Common name ornamental sage Family lamiaceae Life cycle tender perennial (Z9-11) Flowers magenta (summer-fall) Size 3-4' Light sun-part shade Cultural notes ordinary garden soil Tubular flowers on a vigorous plant. It sure grew into a voluminous plant by season's end, making a big statement in our back border – and it continued to do so for several more years. Alas, it was killed outright in the megafreeze of winter storm Uri, February 2021.

This plant used to grow in our garden, but it slipped away...
