We mainly grow the creeping form prostratum, which is a low-growing mat-former with attractive glossy serrated leaves. Supposedly needs moist soil, but we grow it in some places that don't get much irrigation in times of drought, and it's done fine. The photo wasn't taken at prime blooming time (when the plant is more evenly speckled in (though not covered with) flowers. Very useful plant, I'm not sure why it's relatively uncommon. We've also had the upright (common) form a few times; this one is used in low hedges, or as an evergreen accent in herb gardens.

I have seeds of the real T. canadense and would be glad to send you some. Right now I'm working on putting an informative link next to every species on my trade list, so you'll know what you're looking at. I'm in college so it may be a little while before I get it done. Right you are. Thanks for setting me straight once again. I've updated the website. |
