Flowers give way to round fruit that separates into four seeds Common name chaste tree Family lamiaceae Life cycle shrub (Z6-10) Flowers blue (spring-summer) Size 10-20' Light sun-part shade Cultural notes drought-tolerant Large shrub or small tree with aromatic foliage and spikes of light blue flowers. The flowers are produced on new wood, and attract many pollinator insects as well as hummingbirds. Ours, planted alongside our driveway, was included in our newly built home's landscaping package.
