The tallest-growing skullcap in our garden, with attractive dark crinkly foliage. Flowers start in mid-summer. We got our original plant at a wildflower sale several years ago, and have found propagation by seed to be difficult. So we just enjoy the one or two plants that we have. I think they return late in spring, since every year I think we lost them, and then I find them again later in the season.
| | The flowers close up look like silly puppets, like many in the mint family. |

Visitors to this page have left the following comments| sabinski | Nov 12, 2005 | some years ago in a nursery i happened to have germinating seed. we did cold-germination, but the percentage was poor. cuttings were a bit better. |
- Seed from '03 garden. Baggy 35F (6w)-70F(4w)-70F with light (2w). No germination, moved seed to pot set outside in mid-March. 10%G by mid-May.
- Seed from '04 garden. Baggy 35F (13w) - 70F (3w; 15%G, 3-6d). Only 20% of germinated seeds produced viable seedling.
- Seed from '07 garden. Baggy 35F (13w) - 70F (78%G, 2-9d)
Clothier says germinates cold, which did not occur in baggy.
