Mounding species from Mexico, whose hardiness here is doubtful. But I'll try a new skullcap anytime – and luckily this bloomed the year I started it from seed, so that even if it doesn't survive winter, I will have experienced its charms. And it has plenty of charm: the smallest, glossiest leaves of any skullcap we've grown, which offset the rich rose flowers beautifully.
